SARAH SHAHI JOINS UPCOMING SHOWTIME DRAMA SERIES CITY ON A HILL

Drama Starring Kevin Bacon and Aldis Hodge To Premiere On SHOWTIME Later This Year

LOS ANGELES – January 14, 2019 – Sarah Shahi is joining the cast of CITY ON A HILL, the new one-hour SHOWTIME drama series starring Golden Globe® winner and Emmy® nominee Kevin Bacon (The Following) and Screen Actors Guild® award winner Aldis Hodge (Underground). Shahi will recur in the guest-starring role of Rachel Behnam, a street-smart investigator for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office. Production on the new 10-episode series will begin in February in New York and Boston, and will premiere later this year.

Shahi starred in Fairly Legal, and her additional TV credits include Person of Interest, Reverie, as well as Chicago Fire, Life, Alias and The L Word.

City On A Hill is created and executive produced by Chuck MacLean (Boston Strangler), with multiple Emmy winner Tom Fontana (Homicide: Life on the Street) serving as showrunner, executive producer and one of the writers. CITY ON A HILL is set in the early 1990s Boston, rife with violent criminals emboldened by local law enforcement agencies in which corruption and racism was the norm. In this fictional account, assistant district attorney Decourcy Ward (Hodge) arrives from Brooklyn and forms an unlikely alliance with a corrupt yet venerated FBI veteran, Jackie Rohr (Bacon). Together, they take on a family of armored car robbers from Charlestown in a case that grows to involve, and ultimately subvert, the entire criminal justice system of Boston. Produced by SHOWTIME, CITY ON A HILL also stars Jonathan Tucker (Kingdom), Mark O’Brien (Halt and Catch Fire), Jill Hennessy (Crossing Jordan), Lauren E. Banks (Instinct), Amanda Clayton (Tyler Perry’s If Loving You Is Wrong), Kevin Chapman (BROTHERHOOD) and Tony® Award nominee Jere Shea (Passion), with Kevin Dunn (Veep) recurring.

CITY ON A HILL is executive produced by Chuck McLean, Tom Fontana, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Jennifer Todd, Michael Cuesta, James Mangold and Barry Levinson. MacLean wrote the pilot and Cuesta directed. Kevin Bacon and Jorge Zamacona serve as co-executive producers.
