Super Bowl Spot Kicks Off Brand Campaign

for the CBS All Access Streaming Service

Feb. 3, 2019 – Today during CBS Sports’ broadcast of SUPER BOWL LIII, CBS All Access, CBS’ subscription video on-demand and live streaming service, released its first spot for its upcoming original series THE TWILIGHT ZONE, which will premiere Monday, April 1. To view an extended cut of the spot, click here.

THE TWILIGHT ZONE spot begins with what seemingly is a return from commercial break to CBS’ broadcast of the Super Bowl, but the feed blacks out, noting “CBS Is Off The Air.” Moments later, viewers are brought back to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium – left eerily empty except for one man, Jordan Peele. The spot serves as fans’ first sneak peek of Peele stepping into Rod Serling’s iconic role, as host and narrator of THE TWILIGHT ZONE.

THE TWILIGHT ZONE spot was shot overnight last month at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The symbolic “Twilight Zone” door featured in the spot was created and assembled on the 50-yard line.

In addition to THE TWILIGHT ZONE spot, CBS All Access also ran a spot in the Super Bowl for its massive hit STAR TREK: DISCOVERY, which is currently streaming weekly on Thursdays.

Following the Super Bowl and beginning Monday, CBS All Access will launch its brand campaign, “It’s On,” in support of the service through digital, print, television and out-of-home.

THE TWILIGHT ZONE will lead fans to another dimension beginning Monday, Apr. 1 and will debut with two episodes. Following the series premiere, new episodes of the anthology series will be available on demand weekly on Thursdays beginning April 11 exclusively for CBS All Access subscribers.

THE TWILIGHT ZONE is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Simon Kinberg’s Genre Films. Jordan Peele and Simon Kinberg serve as executive producers along with Win Rosenfeld, Audrey Chon, Glen Morgan, Carol Serling, Rick Berg and Greg Yaitanes.

The original “The Twilight Zone” premiered on Oct. 2, 1959 on CBS. The series took viewers to another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound, but of mind. “The Twilight Zone” became a worldwide phenomenon as it used socially conscious storytelling to explore the human condition and culture of the times. It was a journey into a wondrous land of imagination for five years on CBS, from 1959 to 1964. The godfather of sci-fi series, the show explored humanity’s hopes, despairs, prides and prejudices in metaphoric ways conventional dramas could not. Every episode of the original series is available to stream now on CBS All Access.
