CBS REACHES NINE STRAIGHT WEEKS AS AMERICA’S MOST-WATCHED NETWORK

CBS Has Six of Top 10 Shows

CBS expanded the Network’s season-best winning streak to nine straight weeks – winning five nights and beating its nearest competition by +1.8 million viewers for the week (6.74m versus 4.94m, +36%), according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending May 6. CBS had six of the week’s top 10 programs, and 13 of the top 20 – more than all other broadcaster networks combined.

For the week, CBS had the top three shows (THE BIG BANG THEORY, 12.93m; NCIS, 12.35m; and YOUNG SHELDON, 11.67m). Adding in BULL at #5 with 10.37 million, CBS had four of the top five series on television last week. Rounding out the top 20 were 60 MINUTES (9.12m) at #6, MOM (8.63m) at #9, NCIS: NEW ORLEANS (8.13m) at #11, BLUE BLOODS (7.77m) at #12, NCIS: LOS ANGELES (7.71m) at #13, SURVIVOR (7.67m) at #14, HAWAII FIVE-0 (7.04m) at #16, INSTINCT (6.96m) at #17 and LIFE IN PIECES (6.25m) at #20.

On Monday, the season premiere of ELEMENTARY was first in the 10:00 PM time period with 4.74 million viewers.

On Tuesday, NCIS was first in viewers (12.35m) and second in adults 25-54 (2.0/07) and adults 18-49 (1.2/06, tie). Compared to the last first-run episode on April 17, NCIS added +920,000 viewers (from 11.43m, +8%) and was Tuesday’s most-watched program. At 9:00 PM,

BULL was first in viewers (10.37m), adults 25-54 (1.7/05) and adults 18-49 (1.1/04, tie). At 10:00 PM, NCIS: NEW ORLEANS was tops in viewers (8.13m) and adults 25-54 (1.4/05, tie).

On Wednesday, CBS was first in viewers (6.31m) as SURVIVOR (7.67m) led the night for the ninth time in the last 10 weeks. Both SEAL TEAM (5.72m) and CODE BLACK (5.03m) were second in viewers.

Thursday’s comedies once again helped CBS to dominate the night across the board in viewers (8.30m), adults 25-54 (2.2/08) and adults 18-49 (1.4/06). THE BIG BANG THEORY at 8:00 PM was first in viewers (12.93m), adults 25-54 (3.6/13) and adults 18-49 (2.4/11). Compared to last week, THE BIG BANG THEORY added +1.14m viewers (from 11.79m, +7%) and was the night’s #1 program in viewers and key demos. YOUNG SHELDON was also first in viewers (11.67m), adults 25-54 (3.0/10) and adults 18-49 (1.9/08). YOUNG SHELDON was the #2 program in viewers and adults 25-54 and the #2 broadcast in adults 18-49 – all behind THE BIG BANG THEORY.

At 9:00 PM, MOM was first in viewers (8.63m), adults 25-54 (2.3/08) and adults 18-49 (1.4/06). MOM was the night’s #3 program in viewers and adults 25-54. LIFE IN PIECES at 9:30 PM was first in viewers (6.25m), adults 25-54 (1.7/05) and adults 18-49 (1.0/04, tie). Rounding out the night, S.W.A.T. was second in viewers (5.09m), adults 25-54 (1.2/04) and adults 18-49 (0.8/04).

On Friday, CBS was first in viewers (6.97m) for the 24th Friday this season with non-sports programming, first in adults 25-54 (1.1/4) for the 23rd Friday this season, and first in adults 18-49 (0.7/4, tie) for the 22nd Friday this season. The MACGYVER season two finale at 8:00 PM was first in viewers (6.10m) and adults 25-54 (1.0/04). MACGYVER was the night’s #3 program in viewers behind the other CBS dramas. HAWAII FIVE-0 was first in viewers (7.04m), adults 25-54 (1.1/04) and adults 18-49 (0.7/3, tie). HAWAII FIVE-0 was the #2 program in viewers (behind BLUE BLOODS). At 10:00 PM, BLUE BLOODS was first in viewers (7.77m). BLUE BLOODS was the night’s most-watched program.

On Sunday, CBS was first in viewers (7.42m). At 7:00 PM, 60 MINUTES was Sunday’s most-watched program with 9.12 million viewers. At 8:00 PM, INSTINCT was second in viewers (6.96m), as was NCIS: LOS ANGELES (7.71m) at 9:00 PM. At 10:00 PM, MADAM SECRETARY was first in viewers (5.91m).
