This season, AERIAL AMERICA soars across the states of Texas, Idaho, Utah, Kentucky, North and South Dakota, and Wyoming.

First launched in 2008, AERIAL AMERICA is now 43 states into its epic quest to capture all 50 states from the air. Shot from a helicopter armed with a state-of-the-art Cineflex V-14 HD camera system, each episode uses breathtaking aerial cinematography to reveal what it is that makes each of the 50 U.S. states unique - from beautiful natural landmarks, to sites of important turning points in history, to fascinating locations far off the beaten path… and the rich variety of wildlife that call each U.S. state home.

Soaring all the way from Alaska’s Denali Base Camp to the sunlit beaches of the Florida Keys, AERIAL AMERICA offers the ultimate “bird’s eye view” of our nation, the compelling stories behind its rich history… and the seemingly endless beauty of its land.

Kurt Wenner is an artist with an international following. He is best known for his invention of 3-D pavement art. Wenner was inspired by anamorphic perspective, but had to invent an entirely new geometry in order to create his astonishing 3-D pavement art images. Wenner’s vision and personal quest for answers within the arts has been vigorously pursued.  Enduring skill combined with a path to share his knowledge have made him a leader in the arts world.

From his early teen years, Wenner was interested in drawing the way the great masters did. He attended Rhode Island School of Design and Art Center College of Design to study with the best drawing teachers before working for NASA as an advanced scientific space illustrator. Although young and well ensconced in a professional position, in 1982 he left NASA for Italy in order to pursue his love of classical art.

For several years Wenner traveled extensively to experience the finest masterpieces and monuments throughout Europe. During this period he experimented with traditional paint media such as tempera, fresco, and oil paint, and, in order to finance his studies he took up pavement art.  It was only a matter of months until he invented 3-D chalk painting.
