“AT&T BYRON NELSON” THIS WEEKEND

 The PGA TOUR’s “Texas Swing” finishes this weekend as CBS Sports broadcasts the third and final rounds of a tournament with one of the richest traditions in the game of golf, the AT&T BYRON NELSON, on Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31 (3:00-6:00 PM, ET, both days), live from TPC Four Seasons Resort Las Colinas in Irving, Texas.  Among the strong field this week is Dallas native, current No. 2 player in the Official World Golf Ranking and 2015 Masters champion Jordan Spieth, who returns to play in the event where he made his PGA TOUR debut at the age of 16 in 2010.

Jim Nantz, three-timeEmmy Award-winner and five-time National Sportscaster of the Year, serves as anchor of CBS Sports’ golf coverage.  He will be joined in the 18th tower by lead analyst Sir Nick Faldo, winner of six major championships and more than 40 tournaments worldwide.  Ian Baker-Finch calls the action in the 17th tower; Gary McCord at the 16th hole; and David Feherty and Peter Kostis serve as on-course reporters.  

This weekend at the AT&T Byron Nelson, and for all 19 PGA TOUR events this year, CBS Sports’ PGA TOUR coverage will be streamed live on CBSSports.com and PGATOUR.com.  The live streaming coverage also will be available on the CBS Sports app for the iPhone, iPad and Android.

Last year Brendon Todd held a share of the third-round lead before shooting a bogey-free final round of 66 to win by two shots over former Masters champion Mike Weir.  Todd became the fourth champion in the last five years to record his first PGA TOUR victory at the event joining Jason Day (2010), Keegan Bradley (2011) and Sangmoon Bae (2013).  Todd defends his title against this year’s field that includes each, as well as 12 of the Top 30 in the FedEx Cup standings led by top-ranked Spieth, Jimmy Walker, Charley Hoffman, Dustin Johnson, Brandt Snedeker, Day, Bae, Gary Woodland, Brooks Koepka, Daniel Berger, Matt Kuchar and Brendon de Jonge, and 10 of the Top 30 in the Official World Golf Ranking.  Others scheduled to tee it up are nine past AT& T Byron Nelson winners also including Jason Dufner (2012), Rory Sabbatini (2009), Scott Verplank (2007), Vijay Singh (2003) and Neal Lancaster (1994), as well as 12 major champions including Angel Cabrera, Retief Goosen, Ben Curtis, Zach Johnson, Geoff Ogilvy, Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel joining those players already mentioned as past champions or in the rankings.  (For the entire field go to PGATOUR.com)
