WHAT: When Gilles Tetreault arranged to meet a woman he met on an online dating site, he had no idea of the horror that would unfold. Tetreault says he came face-to-face with a madman who had set a trap to kill him. Tetreault was attacked and barely escaped with his life. Johnny Altinger answered a similar online dating ad and disappeared without a trace. Was there really a crime, or was this an elaborate setup for a screenplay for murder? An all-new episode of 48 HOURS MYSTERY.

WHO: Correspondent Troy Roberts reports the story of Mark Twitchell, a 29-year-old married father and aspiring filmmaker whose obsession with television’s serial killer “Dexter” turned into a real-life murder mystery for Canadian police.

             WHEN: Saturday, Feb. 11 (10:00 – 11:00 PM, ET/PT)

WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH: Filmmaker Mark Twitchell, from Canada, was pursuing his dream of making movies. He wrote a screenplay called “House of Cards.” It told the story of a serial killer who creates a fake online profile as a woman and then lures men from a dating website to his garage and kills them.  When Johnny Altinger went missing, police were led to garage where Twitchell had just wrapped shooting on “House of Cards.”   The investigation would unravel a twisted tale of a sociopath after detectives uncovered a secret journal that appeared to be a blueprint for murder.  After Altinger’s blood was found in Twitchell’s car, Mark Twitchell was charged with the murder of Johnny Altinger. Now, Troy Roberts speaks with Johnny Altinger’s brother, Gary, in his first American television interview – as well as Gilles Tetreault, who describes firsthand the terror he experienced in this real-life nightmare that could have easily been made for the silver screen.

On Saturday, Feb. 11 from 10:00 – 11:00 P.M., ET, Troy Roberts will discuss the case on Facebook, while the producers of 48 HOURS MYSTERY will lead the conversation on Twitter.
