COUNTRY MUSIC, COLLEGE HOOPS, TINY SPOCK AND NCIS LEAD CBS TO A SLAM DUNK WEEKLY WIN IN VIEWERS, ADULTS 18-49 AND ADULTS 25-54

"The Big Bang Theory" is the Top Comedy in Adults 18-49; "NCIS," "Person of Interest" and "NCIS: Los Angeles" are the Top Dramas in Adults 18-49

CBS Has the Top Five Scripted Series in Viewers

           The ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, CBS Sports' presentation of NCAA BASKETBALL MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY and strong performances from the Network's scripted series led CBS to a weekly win in viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending April 1, Week 28 of the 2011-2012 television season.

NCIS was the week's #1 program in viewers.  NCIS, NCIS: LOS ANGELES, PERSON OF INTEREST, THE BIG BANG THEORY and THE MENTALIST were the week's top five scripted programs.  

In adults 18-49, NCIS was the week's top drama for the sixth consecutive first-run broadcast, followed by PERSON OF INTEREST and NCIS: LOS ANGELES.  THE BIG BANG THEORY, with an episode featuring the voice of Leonard Nimoy as "Tiny Spock," was the week's top comedy/scripted series in adults 18-49.

            For the week in viewers:  CBS (11.53m), ABC (7.53m), FOX (6.71m) and NBC (4.87m).   Season-to-date:  CBS (12.00m) leads FOX (9.00m), ABC (8.28m) and NBC (7.65m).

For the week in key demographics, CBS was first in both adults 25-54 (3.7/10) and adults 18-49 (2.8/08).  CBS was first in adults 25-54 for the fourth consecutive week and first in adults 18-49 for the third straight week. 

            For the week in households:  CBS (7.1/12), ABC (4.9/08), FOX (4.0/07) and NBC (3.1/05).  Season-to-date:  CBS (7.5/12) leads both ABC and FOX (5.3/09, each) and NBC (4.7/08). 

Season-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 (4.0/10) and second in adults 18-49 (3.1/08, now just -0.1 behind FOX).  Season-to-date, CBS is up +4% in households, +1% in viewers, +3% in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 compared to last year. 

 

CBS Weekly Highlights:

NCIS was first in households (11.5/19), viewers (18.62m), adults 25-54 (5.2/14) and adults 18-49 (3.5/11).  Compared to last week, NCIS was up +6% in adults 25-54 (from 4.9/19) and +3% in adults 18-49 (from 3.4/10). 

NCIS: LOS ANGELES was second in households (9.2/14), viewers (14.75m), adults 25-54 (4.2/10) and adults 18-49 (3.0/08, -0.1 behind ABC).  Compared to last week, NCIS: LOS ANGELES was up +2% in adults 25-54 (from 4.1/10) and +7% in adults 18-49 (from 2.8/08).  NCIS: LOS ANGELES beat "New Girl" in households, viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 in the common half-hour for the second consecutive week and the third time in four first-run airings. 

UNFORGETTABLEwas first in households (6.8/11), viewers (10.51m), adults 25-54 (3.0/07) and adults 18-49 (2.1/06). 

SURVIVOR: ONE WORLD was second in households (5.9/10), viewers (9.99m), adults 25-54 (4.0/11) and adults 18-49 (2.9/09).  Compared to last week, SURVIVORwas up +4% in adults 18-49 (from 2.8/09) and even in adults 25-54.

THE BIG BANG THEORY (8.5/14, 13.96m) was first in adults 25-54 (6.2/17), adults 18-49 (4.7/15), adults 18-34 (3.3/13).  THE BIG BANG THEORY was the night's #1 program in adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34.

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT (P) (8:31-9:00 PM) was second in households (5.3/09), viewers (8.65m), adults 25-54 (3.7/09), adults 18-49 (2.7/08) and adults 18-34 (1.6/05). Compared to the last first-run episode (on Dec. 15, 2011), RULES OFENGAGEMENT was even in adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34.   

PERSON OF INTEREST was first in households (9.0/14), viewers (14.59m), adults 25-54 (4.7/11) and adults 18-49 (3.3/09).

THE MENTALISTwas first in households (8.6/14), viewers (13.62m), adults 25-54 (4.1/10) and adults 18-49 (2.7/08). 

UNDERCOVER BOSSwas first in households (5.2/10), viewers (8.14m), adults 25-54 (2.6/08) and adults 18-49 (1.8/07). 

CSI: NY (P) returned in first in households (6.1/11), viewers (9.45m), adults 25-54 (2.3/06) and adults 18-49 (1.6/05). 

  BLUE BLOODS was first in households (6.8/12), viewers (10.72m), second in adults 25-54 (2.4/06) and adults 18-49 (1.6/05). 

-- CBS won Saturday in households (9.2/17), viewers (15.99m), adults 25-54 (5.9/17), adults 18-49 (5.3/17), adults 18-34 (4.9/19), men 25-54 (7.5/21), men 18-49 (6.9/22) and men 18-34 (6.4/24).  Compared to the Final Four Saturday last year, CBS was up +4% in adults 18-49, +11% in adults 18-34, +3% in men 18-49, +14% in men 18-34, even in both households and adults 25-54 and down -3% in men 25-54. 

From 8:00-8:25 PM, the primetime run over of CBS NCAA BASKETBALLCHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY – 1 posted a 10.7/20 with 18.48m viewers

CBS NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP BRIDGE SHOW(S) (8:25-8:57 PM) scored a 7.8/15 with 13.61m viewers and 5.0/15 in adults 25-54, 4.5/16 in adults 18-49, 4.1/18 in adults 18-34, 6.2/19 in men 25-54, 5.9/20 in men 18-49 and 5.6/23 in men 18-34.  Compared to the BRIDGE SHOWlast year (which ran 8:30-8:57 PM), CBS was up +3% in households, +4% in both adults 25-54 and men 18-49, +7% in adults 18-49, +11% in adults 18-49, +14% in men 18-34 and down -2% in men 25-54. 

CBS NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY - 2(S) (8:57-11:22 PM) posted a 9.6/17 in households with 16.60m viewers and 6.2/17 in adults 25-54, 5.5/17 in adults 18-49, 5.0/19 in adults 18-34, 7.9/21 in men 25-54, 7.2/22 in men 18-49 and 6.5/24 in men 18-34.  Compared to the same game last year (which aired 8:57-11:16PM), CBS was up +1% in households, +2% in adults 18-49, +6% in adults 18-34, +3% in men 18-49, +12% in men 18-34, even in adults 25-54, and down -2% in men 25-54.   CBS NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY - 2posted its best households, viewers, adults 18-49, adults 18-34, men 18-49 and men 18-34 deliveries since 2005.    

60 MINUTESwas first in households (6.6/12), viewers (10.09m), adults 25-54 (2.2/06) and adults 18-49 (1.4/04). 

THE 47th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS(8:00PM-11:02 PM) was first in households (7.9/13), viewers (13.09m), adults 25-54 (4.2/10) and adults 18-49 (3.1/08).  Compared to last year's ceremony, CBS was up +4% in households (from 7.6/12), even in adults 25-54 and added +40,000 viewers (from 13.05m).
