            CBS won by a decisive margin in viewers and key demographics for the second consecutive week behind season highs for NCIS, THE BIG BANG THEORY and PERSON OF INTEREST, a strong premiere of the new comedy ROB and a primetimebroadcast of theAFC DIVISIONAL PLAYOFF, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Jan. 15, Week 17 of the 2011-2012 season.

CBS posted its best weekly deliveries in households, viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since the week ending Jan. 23, 2011. Season-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 (4.2/10) and adults 18-49 (3.2/09).  CBS is now up +6% in households, +4% in viewers, +8% in adults 25-54 and +7% in adults 18-49 versus a year ago.

CBS had 10 of the week's top 15 programs, including NCIS, which delivered over 21 million viewers, the largest audience since February 2011, THE BIG BANG THEORY, which posted its largest Thursday audience to date, series highs for PERSON OF INTEREST and a time-period-winning premiere for the new Rob Schneider comedy ROB.

            CBS topped off its winning week with CBS Sports coverage of the AFC DIVISIONAL PLAYOFF SATURDAY which scored the network's largest Saturday audience since 1994. 

For the week in viewers:  CBS (13.94m),FOX (8.69m), ABC (7.02m) and NBC (6.60m). Season-to-date: CBS (12.28m), ABC (8.54m), FOX (8.36m) and NBC (7.40m). 

For the week in key demographics, CBS was first in both adults 25-54 (4.7/11) and adults 18-49 (3.7/10).  Compared to the same week last year (when CBS did not have the primetime Saturday NFL playoff game), CBS was up +15% in households, +17% in viewers, +24% in adults 25-54 and +28% in adults 18-49.

For the week in households:  CBS (8.3/13),FOX (5.0/08), ABC (4.4/07) and NBC (4.2/07).   Season-to-date:  CBS (7.6/12), ABC (5.4/09), FOX (5.0/08) and NBC (4.6/08). 

 

CBS Weekly Highlights:

-- On Tuesday, CBS was first in households (10.1/16), viewers (16.39m), adults 25-54 (4.6/11) and adults 18-49 (3.2/08).  CBS posted its largest Tuesday audience since Sept. 20, 2011 (premiere week Tuesday). 

 NCIS was first in households (12.7/19), viewers (21.03m), adults 25-54 (6.0/14) and adults 18-49 (4.1/11).  NCIS posted its best viewers and adults 25-54 performances since Feb. 22, 2011 and matched last week's adults 18-49 rating, which was the best since Nov. 8, 2011. 

 NCIS: LOS ANGELES was first in households (10.2/16), viewers (16.60m), adults 25-54 (4.6/10) and adults 18-49 (3.3/08). 

 UNFORGETTABLEwas first in households (7.2/12), viewers (11.20m), adults 25-54 (3.0/07) and adults 18-49 (2.1/06). 

 THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS (S) was first in households (5.9/09), viewers (8.88m), second in adults 25-54 (3.0/07) and adults 18-49 (2.5/07). 

-- On Thursday, CBS was first in households (8.7/13), viewers (14.45m), adults 25-54 (4.8/11) and adults 18-49 (3.5/09).  CBS posted its best Thursday delivery this season in both households and viewers and its best Thursday ratings in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since Sept. 22, 2011 (premiere week Thursday). 

 THE BIG BANG THEORY was first in households (9.5/15), viewers (16.13m), adults 25-54 (7.0/17), adults 18-49 (5.3/15) and adults 18-34 (3.8/12).  THE BIG BANGTHEORY posted its best delivery in households since Nov. 10, 2011, in both viewers and adults 25-54 since Monday, March 8, 2010, in both adults 18-49 and adults 18-34 since Nov. 17, 2011. 

 ROB (P) was first in households (7.8/12), viewers (13.47m), adults 25-54 (5.4/13) and adults 18-49 (4.1/11).  ROBposted the time period's best delivery with a regularly scheduled program since May 13, 2010 (SURVIVOR: HEROES VS.VILLAINS) in households, viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49. 

 PERSON OF INTEREST was first in households (8.8/13) and viewers (14.86m) and second in both adults 25-54 (4.5/10, -0.1 behind ABC) and adults 18-49 (3.2/08).  PERSON OF INTEREST posted series-high deliveries in households, viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.

 THE MENTALISTwas first in households (8.5/14), viewers (13.65m), adults 25-54 (3.8/09) and adults 18-49 (2.7/07).  Compared to the last first-run episode (on Dec. 15, 2011), THE MENTALIST was up +5% in households (from 8.1/14), even in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 and added +490,000 viewers (from 13.16m, +4%).

-- On Friday, CBS was first in households (6.7/11), viewers (10.48m), adults 25-54 (2.4/06) and tied for first in adults 18-49 (1.6/05, with ABC). CBS won 16 of 17 Fridays this season in viewers, was first 13 of 17 Fridays in adults 25-54 and 12 of 17 Fridays in adults 18-49. 

 A GIFTED MAN was first in households (5.6/10) and viewers (8.76m) and tied for first in adults 25-54 (1.9/05, with FOX).  Compared to last week, A GIFTED MAN was up +2% in households (from 5.5/09) and added +380,000 viewers (from 8.38m, +5%).

 CSI: NY was first in households (6.8/11), viewers (10.60m) and adults 25-54 (2.4/06), and tied for first in adults 18-49 (1.7/05, with ABC).  Compared to last week, CSI: NY was up +3% in households (from 6.6/11) and added +40,000 viewers (from 10.56m). 

 BLUE BLOODS was first in households (7.6/13), viewers (12.08m), adults 25-54 (2.7/07) and adults 18-49 (1.8/05).  Compared to last week, BLUE BLOODS was up +6% in households (from 7.2/12), even in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 and added +740,000 viewers (from 11.34m, +6%). 

-- On Saturday, CBS, with AFC DIVISIONAL PLAYOFFS SATURDAY "Denver Broncos at New England Patriots" (S), was first in households, viewers, key men and key adult demographics from 8:00-11:00 PM. 

 From 8:00-11:00 PM, CBS posted the network's best Saturday primetime delivery since Feb. 26, 1994 (XVII OLYMPICS WINTER SATURDAY 3), in households, viewers, adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34; best since Feb. 19, 1994 (XVII OLYMPICS WINTER SATURDAY 2) in men 25-54; best since April 4, 1992 (NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP 2) in men 18-49 and men 18-34.  

 TheAFC DIVISIONAL PLAYOFFS SATURDAYscored an 18.5/30 in households with 34.16m viewers, 14.1/33 in adults 25-54, 12.5/33 in adults 18-49, 10.6/33 in adults 18-34, 17.5/40 in men 25-54, 15.6/40 in men 18-49 and 13.0/40 in men 18-34 from 8:17-11:26 PM.
